Slope=(x-2-3)/(x+1-(-5))=(x-5)/(x+6)

Slope of a line = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

So in your case:

Slope of the line = {(x-2)-3}{/x+1- (-5)} = (x-5)/(x+6)
