If you mean the point dividing the distance between the given points into the ratio 2:3, then we divide the x distance between the points, 4-1=3, into 5 segments, each one being 3/5=0.6 units in length. 2 such units make 1.2 units and 3 make 1.8. Now add 1.2 to the (left or first) x coord: 1+1.2=2.2. This is the x coord of the required point.
