What is the maximum value of 4x + 3y in the feasible region?
in Algebra 2 Answers by

The question should include inequalities and/or equations so that constraints can be used to define the feasible region. Then the expression can be maximised.

Graph your constraints so that you can “box off” the feasible region, usually a triangle, quadrilateral or other polygon. Inspect the vertices and work out the coords to give you the x and y values. Plug in these values into 4x+3y and find out which vertex gives you the highest result. The coords of this vertex are the x and y values you need.
