If the numbers are a and b, their quotient a/b=-4 and their difference a-b=10.

So we can write a=-4b, and -4b-b=10, so -5b=10 and b=-2. Therefore a=(-4)(-2)=8.

CHECK: 8/-2=-4 and 8-(-2)=8+2=10.

The numbers are 8 and -2.
