Do you mean 36 divided into 540? If so:

36 ) 540

      -360    10+

       180

        -72      2+

       108

        -72      2+

         36

        -36      1

          0      15

540 divided by 36 = 15 no remainder.

If you did mean 36 divided by 540 then the answer would be 0 with 36 remainder. Or, the answer would be the fraction 1/15.
