Multiplying by ten raised to a power is a way to express a very large or very small number in a more convenient form. It also helps to make calculations easier, because multiplication and division are simplified. Multiplication is addition of the powers and division is subtraction. The decimal parts are multiplied or divided followed by the multiplication sign and 10 to the added or subtracted powers of ten.

In the case in question we move the decimal point 15 places to the right adding in extra zeroes if necessary:

9,460,528,400,000,000
