 0.083% is bigger than 0.042% but 0.43% is bigger than 0.083%.

If you multiply all the numbers by 1000 you will get rid of the decimal points and you will have “ordinary” numbers that are easy to compare. Multiplying by 1000 will, in this case, move the decimal point 3 places to the right so 0.042 becomes 42, 0.083 becomes 83, 0.43 is the same as 0.430 and becomes 430. It’s easy to compare 42, 83 and 430. Multiplying each decimal by the same number doesn’t alter their relative size so the size order stays the same.

To convert the percentages into decimal fractions, you divide by 100 which is the same as moving the decimal point 2 places further to the left, putting in zeroes if necessary. 0.083%=0.00083, 0.042%=0.00042, 0.43%=0.0043.
