I assume that f(x)=bˣ is the type of function referred to, where 0<b<1.

The range is f(x)=(∞,0) for the domain x in (-∞,∞). All graphs for different values of b pass through (0,1).

The red curve applies to b close to zero, while the tan curve applies to b close to 1.
