What is the fraction of the ratio 75 to 180

ratio, proportion, and division are all pretty much the same thing.

The ratio symbol is the colon, :

If you want to take the ratio of two quantities, p and q, the you can write, p : q

Since ratio and division are similar, you can replace the colon symbol, : , with a divide symbol, / .

So, p : q is equivalemt to p / q.

The ratio you have is 75 : 180.

Write this as 75 / 180

Now take out common factors from top and bottom to give,

(5*15) / (12*15)

Now simplify this fraction by dividing top and bottom by 15, to give,

Answer: 5/12
