I assume you mean arithmetic long division. There's also algebraic long division.

To help you to do this you could draw up a table for the divisor. Let's suppose the divisor is 237, then you write down all the multiples up to 9*237:

Multiple of 237
1 237
2 474
3 711
4 948
5 1185
6 1422
7 1659
8 1896
9 2133

Now suppose the dividend is 19016700.

        ____80239 rem 57

237 ) 19016700

       - 1896 8*237 is the nearest multiple which is lower than 1901, write 8 in the quotient

               56 237 won't go into 56 so write 0 in the quotient

567 bring down the next digit in the dividend

            - 474 2*237 is the nearest multiple, write 2 in the quotient

                 930

               - 711

                 2190

               - 2133

                     57
