The horizontal displacement is 5√2/2 (which is the same as 5/√2) and the vertical displacement is 3+5√2/2.

The distance between the starting and finishing points is √(25/2+(3+5√2/2)^2)=

√(25/2+9+25/2+15√2)=

√(34+15√2)=7.43km approx.
