This is the formula I'll be using for the correlation coefficient:

 

 

where (x,y) are the given ordered pairs of results. It will be necessary to calculate means and standard deviations. n=9, the number of pairs. Mean x=80/9, mean y=98/9.

The table above shows the results. Column A is just the product of the data in the previous two columns, with the resultant total. R, the correlation coefficient, is this total divided by the square root of the product of the totals of the last two columns, according to the formula. So R=0.5 approximately.
