We understand by the following example: Consider the following equation,

7x-5=3-2x       We have to express in theform x=___;  Subtracting 7x both sides,

-7x        -7x

-5=3-9x;    Subtracting  3 both sides

-3      -3

-8=-9x;      Dividing by 9

-8/(-9)=-9x/(-9)

8/9=x
