I read this as 6/(r+5)-2/r=-1.

Multiply through by LCM r(r+5): 6r-2(r+5)=-r(r+5).

6r-2r-10+r^2+5r=0; r^2+9r-10=0=(r+10)(r-1), so r=-10 or 1.

CHECK: r=-10: 6/(-5)+2/10=-6/5+1/5=-1 OK; r=1: 6/6-2=1-2=-1 OK.
