Break each number into its factors, and list them. Numerical factors should be prime numbers. So we have two sets of factors, which can now be compared. Look for the intersection of the two sets, that is, examine the sets and list only the elements that are in both sets.

This exercise gives us a set of common factors. The GCF is the product of all the common factors.
