Brenda's vegetable garden has 13 rows with 8 plants in each row. Brenda plans to plant peppers in the first 2rows and the last 2 rows of the garden. The rest of the rows will be tomatoes. How many will Brenda plant?

There are 13 rows

the 1st two rows have peppers

The last two rows have peppers.

In all, there will be 4 rows of peppers.

Since there are 13 rows in total, then the remaining rows,

which are 13 - 4 = 9, will be planted with tomatoes.

So we have 4 rows of peppers, amnd 9 rows of tomatoes

Sincce there are 8 plants per row, then

Brenda will plant 8*4=32 pepper plants and 9*8 = 72 tomato plants
