what is the answer to q+4/7=1

You are solving the equation for q. i.e. you want to get the value of q thst makes the equation valid/true.

You equatiuon is,

q + 4/7 = 1      subtract 4/7 from each side

q + 4/7 - 4/7 = 1 - 4/7     simplify

q = 1 - 4/7      give the terms on the rhs the same denominator

q = 7/7 - 4/7

q = (7 - 4)/7

q = 3/7
