shouldnt be that hard but the 8 and 1 confuse me....because that makes me want to round the whole 981 up to 1000 but Im looking for the hundreds place.

It would be rounded to 18,000 because 17,981 you look at only the 8 and if it 5 or above you go up another hundred and since it 900 it would total to 18,000
