v=-1.776949 is one approximate solution if the expression is supposed to be equal to zero:

0=-36+(-2v^4)-v^7; v^7+2v^4+36=0. There appears to be only one real, but irrational solution. This answer was found using iterative trial and error and by plotting a graph.
