(a+b)^3=a^3+3a^2b+3ab^2+b^3. Let a=2x and b=-3y then the expansion of the cubic binomial is 8x^3-36x^2y+54xy^2-27y^3. This is an example of a cubic binomial: (2x-3y)*3.

Cubic refers to the degree of the polynomial, in this case it will be a degree 3 polynomial. The term binomial refers to a polynomial with two terms.

Ex: x³ – 8
Ex: t³ – 64
Ex. y³ + 6y
