let x = 25q y = 10(q+8) working equation : x + y = 6.05 solution : 25q + 10(q+8) = 605 25q + 10q + 80 = 605 35q = 605 - 80 35q = 525 q = 15 checking : 25(15) + 10(15+8) = 605 375 + 230 = 605 605 = 605
