x^2+19x+88=0. We need factors of 88 whose sum is 19. Here are the factors in pairs: (1,88), (2,44), (4,22), (8,11) and their respective sums are: (89), (46), (26), (19). Therefore the factors are 8 and 11: (x+8)(x+11)=0, so x=-8 or -11.

Given x^2+19x+88=0
x^2+8x+11x+88=0
x(x+8)+11(x+8)=0
(x+8)(x+11)=0
x=-8,-11
