The screen size is increased by 1/4" in height and 1/2" in width: 8.25*8.5=70.125 sq in is the new area, which is 70.125-64=6.125 sq in bigger, so the recovered area is 6.125 sq in.

(1/4)*24=6 square inch

Then gotta subtrakt the overlap at 2 korners...-(2/16)...(-1/8)...-0.125

=5.875 sq inch
