I have to think about a situation that I had to move forward to get a result, but then had to retrace my steps.

example:  I might know the age I want to retire.  I need to work backward to determine how much I need to invest between now ant then to achieve my financial goals.

How does reversibility of though give me new insight into the situation?

How can I use alegbra to hel me think in reverse?

In what ways might thinking in reverse help me understand larger issues in society?
