i am having a problem with factoring this equation out. some come easy but ones like this i just can't figure out

12x^2+17x-5=0                   - 5 = - 1*5 and 12= 4*3

(4x - 1)(3x + 5) = 0

4x - 1 = 0 ⇒4x = 1 ⇒ x = 1/4

or

3x + 5 = 0 ⇒ 3x = - 5 ⇒ x = - 3/5
