The volume of a cylinder is (pi)r^2h. If this is equal to 500(pi)/3 cubic metres and h=20m, then 20r^2=500/3, so r^2=500/60=25/3 and r=5sqrt(3)/3=2.887m approx. If the volume had been 500(pi) cubic metres, r would have been 5m.
