1 fraction w/equals
4over x+6 =6 over x is the answer 4x?

It would help if everyone posting these problems
would use parentheses to make the problem clear.
This one can be interpreted two ways:
4/x + 6 = 6/x   and  4/(x + 6) = 6/x

It makes a difference when solving the equations.

4/x + 6 = 6/x
x(4/x + 6) = (6/x)x
4 + 6x = 6
6x = 2
x = 1/3

OR.....

4/(x + 6) = 6/x
(x * (x + 6)) * (4/(x + 6)) = (x * (x + 6)) * 6/x
On the left side, the (x + 6) factor cancels out;
on the right side, the x factor cancels out.
4x = 6(x + 6)
4x = 6x + 36
-2x = 36
x = -18

So, which is it? I give you both answers. You choose.
