Let the number of laps Erica swims be E, the number that Stephanie swims be S and the number that Dani swims be D. We can write E=2S-5; D=3S-15; and D=E. So 2S-5=3S-15 because Dani and Erica swim the same number of laps. Therefore 15-5=S so S=10. D=E=2*10-5=15. Plug these figures into the original question to check the answer: E=20-5=15; D=30-15=15.
