6.3=0.9y

Since y is on the right-hand side of the equation, switch the sides so it is on the left-hand side of the equation.
0.9y=6.3

Divide each term in the equation by 0.9.
(0.9y)/(0.9)=(6.3)/(0.9)

Cancel the common factor of 0.9.
y=(6.3)/(0.9)

Divide 6.3 by 0.9 to get 7.
y=7
