how do you solve 6-5(x+2)=x-13?

6 - 5x - 10 = x - 13
- 5x - x = -13 - 6 + 10
-6x = -9
x = -9 / -6 = 3/2 = 1.5

Check:
6 - 5(1.5 + 2) = 1.5 - 13
6 - 5 * 3.5 = -11.5
6 - 17.5 = -11.5
-11.5 = -11.5
