Add 5 to both sides: x>7. Take a line, like an x axis, and divide it up into equal-spaced units, representing numbers: 0, 1, 2, and so on.
At the point marked 7, the whole of the rest of the line to infinity represents the solution. The point marked 7 isn't included, but imagine a number infinitesimally bigger than 7. That number is included in the solution, as much as whole numbers 8, 9 etc. and all the numbers in between are.
