-(x^2+9)/2x is the first simplification. The next simplification is factorisation, but this requires using complex numbers: -(x+3i)(x-3i)/2x, where i is the square root of -1. A further simplification is to divide by 2x: -(x/2+3i/2x)(x-3i), but that might be regarded as complication!
