Let's make this easier. 5 goes into any number ending in 0 or 5 an exact number of times. 9095 has a number ending in 0 and a number ending in 5, so let's split it: 90 95. 5 also goes into 10 twice. How many tens do we have in 90? 9 tens, so we have twice as many 5's: 18. 90/5=18. What about 95? 95 is 5 more than 90 so that's one more 5 than 90, therefore 95/5 is 1 more than 18=19. Put these numbers together and we have 9095/5=1819.

Any number whose ones digit is 5 or 0 is divisible by 5, so 9095 is divisible by 5.

Sol.1: Use the long division.   Divide each digit by 5 from the thousands place.

9/5=1 R4, 40/5=8 R0, 9/5=1 R4 and 45/5=9 R0, so 9095/5=1819

The answer is: 1819 times

Sol.2: Expand 9095 in its factors form.   9095=9x1000+9x10+5x1

Here, 10=5x2, so 1000=5x2x100   Thus, 9095 can be factored as follows:

9095=9x5x2x100+9x5x2+5x1=5(9x2x100+9x2+1)
=5(1800+18+1)=5x1819   So, 9095/5=(5x1819)/5=1819

The answer is: 1819 times
