There are two variables, so the value of neither can be found with only one equation; but the relationship can be shown as a linear graph with the given equation. Open the brackets to get v=288-12h. An easy way to draw the graph is to mark points on the two axes and join them by drawing a line passing through them. The v axis is vertical and the h axis is horizontal. When h=0, v=288, so mark a point representing 288 on the v axis; then we can see that when v=0 h=288/12=24 (this is more obvious when we look at v=12(24-h). So mark 24 on the h axis. Join the two points making sure the line continues through the points. The line will be leaning backwards (\) at a steep angle to the h axis.
