This isn't an equation so there's nothing to solve! OK, let's assume that there should have been an equals sign and a number or an expression involving m. We don't know what the number is so we call it N. 11-(5+m)/-2=N. Multiply throughout by -2 and we get -22-(5+m)=-2N. Open brackets: -22-5-m=-2N. We can get rid of all those minuses by multiplying everything by -1: 22+5+m=2N. Remember that N may be a number, so if we take 27 (=22+5) from each side of the equation we get m=2N-27. If N is zero then m=-27; if N is 15 then m=3. If N=m, then m=2m-27. Add 27 to each side and we get 27+m=2m. Subtract m from both sides and we get 27=m, another way of saying m=27.

Now, see if you can find out what the equation should have been!
