Mutually exclusive events imply that, if one event occurs, the other cannot occur. Examples: tossing head or tail (coin); rolling dice—odd or even; weather: raining or not-raining; passing or failing an exam, red suit/black suit in playing cards.
Inclusive events: either or both can occur. Examples: long-haired people versus male or female: while gender is mutually exclusive (male/female), long hair is not restricted to females; students taking mathematics and students taking history are mutually inclusive because some students take both subjects.
