(x/6+12)+(1/30)=(7/120)-(x/4+8) can be made into a simpler equation.

Multiply through by 120:

20x+1440+4=7-30x-960,

50x+1444-7+960=0,

50x+2397=0.

From this x=-2397/50=-47.94.
