make one y1, and the other y2

set y1 = y2

2x-4 = -x +5

then collect like terms by bringing all x's to one side and all "numbered" valued to the other (change the signs)

2x + x = 5 +4

3x = 9.

x=9/3 x = 3

depending on how far you need to go with this question.....sub x value back into one of the origial equations (either y1 or y2...i'll do both, you will get the same answer for the value of "y")

y1 = 2 (3) -4    y2 = -(3) + 5

y1 = 6-4         y2 = -3 + 5

y1=2            y2 = 2

therefore the points on the graph would be (x,y) = (3,2)
