X+4y=0 and 3x+2y=20
How Do You Solve This With Systems Of Substitution !

x + 4y = 0
3x + 2y = 20

x + 4y = 0
x = -4y

3x + 2y = 20
3(-4y) + 2y = 20
-12y + 2y = 20
-10y = 20
y = -2

x + 4y = 0
x + 4(-2) = 0
x - 8 = 0
x = 8

Check.

3x + 2y = 20
3(8) + 2(-2) = 20
24 - 4 = 20
20 = 20

Answer: x = 8, y = -2
