You probably realised that 8 doesn't go into 8.76 but it does go into 8.760. You're allowed to add zeroes after the last decimal. Forget about the decimal point and treat it as 8760 divided by 8, which is 1095. Now put the decimal point back where it belongs, three places from the right: 1.095.
