11x + 5 = 5x + 41

subtract 5x from both sides

6x + 5 = 41

subtract 5 from both sides

6x = 36

divide both sides by 6 so x=6

11x+5=5x+41

11x - 5x = 41 -5

6x = 36

6x = 36/6

x = 6
