a = 7, b = 12, c = 1

 

m = [-12 +/- sqrt (12^2 - 4*7*1)]/2*7

m = [-12 +/- sqrt (144 - 28)]/14

m = [-12 +/- sqrt 116]/14

m = [-12 +/- 2 sqrt 29}/14

m = [-6 +/- sqrt 29]/7

 12m^2+7m+1=0 
factor I just do this in my head and check it by multiplying: 
(3m+1)(4m+1)=0 
solve by setting each term to zero: 
3m+1=0 
4m+1=0 

m= -1/3, -1/4
