what is the slope to (4,5) and (8,5)
find the slope of the line that passes through each pair of point
(4,5)and (8,5)
(4,3) and (5,-1)
(5-,7 and (-1,-2)

The equation for the slope is m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

(4,5) and (8,5)
m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)
m = (5 - 5) / (8 - 4)
m = 0 / 4
m = 0       <<< this is a horizontal line

(4,3) and (5,-1)
m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)
m = (-1 - 3) / (5 - 4)
m = -4 / 1
m = -4

(5-,7 and (-1,-2) is that supposed to be -7?
(5,-7) and (-1,-2)
m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)
m = (-2 - (-7)) / (-1 - 5)
m = 5 / -6
m = -5/6
