how do i solve 5(x+6)< 40
how do i solve this problem its really difficult so now i ask you for help

Even though there is a "less than" symbol rather than an "equals" symbol,
the steps are the same.

5(x + 6) < 40
5x + 30 < 40
5x +30 - 30 < 40 - 30
5x < 10
5x / 5 < 10 / 5
x < 2

You can plot this on a number line by drawing an empty circle around the number 2
(x is less than 2, so it cannot include 2) and drawing a solid line toward the left,
which would be all numbers less than 2.
