This is 3rd grade math. Okay the hole problem is Joe and liz each have a graden plot with the same area. joes garden plot is  feet wide and  feet long. Liz garden plot is feet wide. What is the length of liz garden plot?

The two plots have the same area.  one is 2 ft wide and 12 long the other is 4 ft wide what is the length?

area of first plot = 2x12=24 sq ft

therefore, since the second is also 24 sq ft = 4 x length

24/4 = length= 6 feet
