64x^2 - 9

When you have something like (?)x^2 - (?) it's easy to factor.  Get the square roots of the two parts

sqrt ( 64x^2 ) = 8x

sqrt ( 9 ) = 3

Then your answer is this:

(8x - 3)(8x + 3) = 64x^2 - 9
