First equation can be written: 3x=4y-2; so 6x=8y-4 and this value of 6x can be substituted into the second equation:

-(8y-4)+8y=1; -8y+4+8y=1; 4=1, which is false, so there are no solutions.

Alternatively, multiply the first equation by -2: -6x+8y=4; but -6x+8y=1 from the second equation, therefore the equations are inconsistent and there can be no solutions.
