step 1...get rid av the "xyz"...if yu reelee want it, yukan add it bak after get the anser

(2 &1/3) -(5 & 3/4) +(4 & 1/2) +(6 & 5/6) -(7/8)

step 2...(7/3) -(23/4) +(9/2) +(41/6) -(7/8)

step 3...get kommon bottom number for (2, 3, 4, 6, 8)=24

(56/8) -(46/8) +(108/8) +(164/24) -(7/8)

or (56 +108+164 -46 -7)/8

=275/8

=34.375
