Question: Solve for x: 3(x+1)+4=5x+7-2x .

3(x+1)+4=5x+7-2x    -- multiply out the brackets.

3x + 3 + 4 = 5x + 7 - 2x   -- group all the x-terms on one side and teh constant values on the other.

3x - 5x + 2x = 7 - 3 - 4   -- simplify.

0 = 0

This means that there is no unique solution. In other words, the equation is valid for all values of x.
