i suppose... 1+sin(x)-cos(x)^2 => 1+sinx- (1-sin^2(x))=> 1+sinx -1+sin^2(x)

=sinx+sin^2(x)  nothing more you can do i think  [ cos^2(x)= 1-sin^2(x) it is an ability ]
